About

This page is both about the web site Conspiracy Science and also me, Edward L Winston, the author of said web site. First I would like to get started by explaining a bit about what this web site is and why I created it, then I want to explain some stuff about me.

In late 2007 or very early 2008 I heard about this movie going around the Internet about conspiracies such as Christianity, September 11th, and the Federal Reserve, about how all of these things culminate to control you and put chips in your arms and convert North America into a single country with a single currency called "The Amero"; no I'm not joking, this movie does make such claims. I searched the Internet trying to find a web site that debunked the entire movie, but I could not. You can read about all of the claims of the movie and my rebuttals on the Zeitgeist, the movie article.

It was not long after that I had decided to create a web site that did debunk this movie, as well as other conspiracy theories I run across on the Internet. I do not really think of myself as a crusader for truth, but when I do see something that is horrendously wrong, I have to say something. If you hear about any more conspiracies on the Internet, be sure to contact me, if I have not already debunked them on my web site.

As I said earlier, my name is Edward L Winston, I am a 20-something software engineer with an affinity for astronomy, history, politics, and crazy theories. While I do have a college education, it was not at Yale or anything like that, just some community college and some university. I have never belonged to a rich family, in fact mine is working-class all the way and I am one of the first with a college education.

I am not a member of the "Illuminati", I'm not Jewish, a reptile half-breed from another dimension/planet, I do not work for any government or mega-corporation; I have absolutely no vested interest in the success of any of the conspiracies I debunk. To me, conspiracy theories are generally all about the same thing, something big happens or might happen, and the people behind it are the rich, Jews, Catholics, aliens, Illuminati, communists, or whoever people want to insert.

Despite the claims that various conspiracy theorists would make about me, I love technology and want it to help man, create cheap energy, and so forth. Regardless of what I want, I believe that it is technology itself that is limiting our current ability to create better technology, not evil devils behind desks trying to find new ways to control humanity.

What I hate most about conspiracy theories today and also those who tell conspiracies, is how they create disclaimers of sorts, because they know what they are saying is easily proven incorrect. For example, Zeitgeist, the movie's web site essentially says that the movie is not supposed to be the truth, but rather help people look for the truth. It is a ridiculous disclaimer in order to tell others that "if I'm wrong, I already knew it; it wasn't meant to be true, just to help you keep an open mind."

Sorry, science and the real world do not work that way, a lie is a lie. That's how I try to analyze things for this web site -- I use history, science, and just plain evidence to back up what I say.
